PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT – Inpatient Psychiatry/CPEP

The Department of Psychiatry at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center offers a wide range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services for those with mental health needs. Patients are treated on one of our two 28-bed adult inpatient units.  We provide psychiatric services by a staff of caring professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, creative arts therapists, and nurses. We provide consultation services and comprehensive and continuous care to patients with mental health needs.  

We are currently seeking a Physician Assistant with Psych In-patient/CPEP experience for an immediate full-time opportunity.

DUTIES:

• As a member of our team, you will serve as a principal healthcare provider working with adult populations. 
• Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, developing, and managing treatment plans
• Ordering and interpreting lab tests • Counseling patients Performing various medical procedures and assisting in surgical operations  
• Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
