Housekeeping Workers – Environmental Services

Position Overview:

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking dedicated Housekeeping Workers to join our Environmental Services team. If you take pride in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, we want to hear from you!

Compensation & Schedule:

  • $25.61/hr. | Full-Time & Part-Time
  • Shifts Available: Days, Evenings, Nights
  • Must be available to work alternate weekends & holidays

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain overall cleanliness and sanitation of assigned facility areas
  • Perform various cleaning tasks, including mopping, buffing floors, sanitizing rooms, and waste disposal
  • Properly clean, store, and handle equipment and chemicals
  • Follow infection control protocols and use appropriate cleaning agents for each task

Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services (healthcare setting preferred)
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules
  • Team player with good communication skills
