A strong Surgical Technologist does more than set up instruments. You anticipate what comes next, protect the sterile field, stay composed when the pace changes, and help the surgical team keep every procedure moving safely and efficiently.

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking Surgical Technologists (OR Techs/Scrub Techs) to join our Operating Room team.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare the OR, sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Establish and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures
  • Anticipate procedural needs and pass instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies
  • Assist with surgical counts, specimens, patient preparation, and other intraoperative needs
  • Support efficient room turnover while working closely with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia providers, and the OR team

Requirements

What You Need to Qualify

  • Associate degree or certificate from an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of aseptic and sterile technique
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • CST certification through NBSTSA or equivalent certification is preferred.

Clinical OR experience obtained through Surgical Technology training may be considered. 1–2 years of prior Operating Room experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation
Certified Surgical Technologist: $41.55/hr. – $51.78/hr. DOE
Non-Certified Surgical Technologist: $38.68/hr.
