Physician Assistant – Neurocritical Care
Neurology | Full-Time Day Shift | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts

$75.68–$85.21/hour, depending on experience

This is not a general Physician Assistant position.
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant with the clinical judgment, assessment skills, and composure to help manage critically ill neurological patients as part of our Neurocritical Care team.

Working alongside Neuro ICU physicians and a multidisciplinary team, you will help manage complex patients whose neurological status can change rapidly and where early recognition and decisive intervention matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess and manage critically ill neurological patients.
  • Perform comprehensive neurological and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory studies.
  • Recognize changes in patient status and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans and ongoing critical-care management.
  • Assist with neurological emergencies outside the ICU and respond to inpatient code strokes.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For
Required:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant license
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Current BLS and ACLS

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience in Neurocritical Care, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Critical Care/ICU, Emergency Medicine, or another high-acuity inpatient environment
  • Strong neurological assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to remain effective when a patient’s condition changes rapidly

Schedule & Compensation
Full-Time Day Shift | 3 x 12-hour shifts
$75.68–$85.21/hour, depending on experience
