Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has a full-time career opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner for our Oncology Outpatient Clinic.

Shift: Strictly days; 4 shifts per week; no weekends.

As a member of our team, you will serve as a principal healthcare provider working with adolescent and adult populations. 

Typical duties will include:

  • Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Evaluating, diagnosing, developing, and managing treatment plans
  • Ordering and interpreting lab tests, x-rays, MRI’s, and CT’s
  • Counseling patients
  • Performing various medical procedures and assisting in surgical operations
  • Document office encounter notes
  • Prescribe medications appropriately and manage prescription refill requests.
  • Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
Requirements

Requirements:

  • Currently a licensed Nurse Practitioner in the State of NY (Master’s Degree-Advanced practice 
  • Minimum of 1-2 years advanced oncology experience required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification, required.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with prescription privileges and DEA certification
