Full-Time | Evening Shift | 37.5 Hours/Week | Rotating Weekends

$57.1637 /hour – $65.4207/hour DOE + Shift Differentials + Additional Differentials for Education & Certifications

When a patient is struggling to breathe, there is no room for hesitation. Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking skilled Registered Respiratory Therapists who thrive in fast-paced clinical environments and want to play a critical role in the care of critically ill patients.

As a member of our Respiratory Care team, you’ll work alongside physicians, nurses, and critical care teams throughout a 384-bed teaching hospital, helping patients through some of their most challenging moments

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Provide respiratory care services across a variety of patient populations
  • Manage mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy
  • Administer aerosolized medications and respiratory treatments
  • Monitor and assess patient respiratory status
  • Respond to respiratory emergencies throughout the hospital
  • Participate in Cardiac Arrest, Rapid Response, and Trauma Team activations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families regarding respiratory therapies and treatments

Requirements

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This opportunity is intended for Respiratory Therapists who are ready to practice at the top of their license in an acute care hospital environment.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Associate Degree required
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills

Preferred:

  • Acute care hospital experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • AARC membership

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
