Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center.  We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant for our Security Office.

SUMMARY

This is a vital position that will ensure the administrative efficacy of our Security Department and its daily operations. Selected candidate will perform diverse administrative and office support activities for multiple supervisors. Typical duties will encompass the following:

  • Utilizing MS Office Word & Excel to create, update and maintain department reports and records.
  • Scheduling department workforce and coordinating office workflow.
  • Utilizing Kronos software to monitor employee time and attendance and data collection.
  • Maintaining and updating Lawson software system to update and maintain personnel records.
  • Maintaining and updating personnel file management systems.
  • Tracking and monitoring workforce license expiration dates.
  • Administering Hand Scanner input for staff across healthcare campus.
  • Supporting various Security Departments.
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma / GED.  College preferred
  • Three or more year’s secretarial and related field experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a rapport with all levels of an organization.
  • Must have efficient ability to multi-task
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office and Windows), especially proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Current and or recent experience with Kronos and Lawson
