Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Charge Entry Analyst to support our growing Cardiology Department. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dedicated team in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

About Us:
Jamaica Hospital is a 408-bed, fully accredited community teaching hospital and a Level 1 trauma center. We are one of New York City’s busiest hospitals with a large network of ambulatory care centers and the largest voluntary ambulance fleet in the city’s 911 system.

Position Summary:
The Charge Entry Analyst plays a critical role in our revenue cycle by ensuring accurate and timely charge entry and claim submission for cardiology services. You will be responsible for verifying billing information, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with coding and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter patient demographics, insurance details, CPT, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, and procedures into the billing system with precision.
  • Reconcile claims and identify any inconsistencies or errors.
  • Update procedure logs and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate charge capture.
  • Analyze and resolve denials, underpayments, and non-payments from insurance providers.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and institutional guidelines.
    Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal departments as needed.

Requirements
  • Certified Medical Biller and Coder required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with in-network and out-of-network claims processing.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Strong understanding of claim denials, appeals, and healthcare reimbursement processes.
  • Proficient in ICD-10, CPT coding, and electronic billing systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1+ year working with ICD-10 codes
  • Familiarity with hospital-based billing systems
  • Previous experience in a cardiology or specialty practice setting
