SECRETARY                                    $21.89/HR. – $23.10 /HR.  

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has an immediate full time opening for a junior level Secretary.  in our Person Centered Services Department.  Selected candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to Person-Centered Services Department and staff.  Our ideal candidate will have the ability to   tactfully, professionally and courteously handle patients, family members, team members, and situations  

SPECIFIC DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Providing secretarial support for Person Centered Department.
  • Organizing and maintaining electronic and paper files.
  • Utilizing Microsoft software applications to prepare correspondences, documents and reports.
  • Advising and assisting patients and families with information regarding policies, procedures and services
  • Maintaining office supplies and inventory.
  • Processing, routing and disseminating interoffice, incoming and outgoing correspondences.
  • Coordinating calendar management system to schedule meetings, room reservations and appointments
  • Participating in patient experience related activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum one year’s secretarial experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a rapport with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey information in a manner that is easy to understand.
  • Strong organizational skills and a previous demonstrated work experience with Microsoft Office and Windows)
  • Must be have above medium to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
