Salary: $65,000–$70,000 annually (based on experience)
Position Overview

Flushing Hospital Medical Center is seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our clinical nutrition team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered medical nutrition therapy across a variety of inpatient units.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to build clinical experience in a diverse, fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for patients in behavioral health, medical-surgical, ICU, and cardiac units
  • Perform Nutrition-Focused Physical Exams (NFPE) and identify malnutrition
  • Apply the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) to assess, diagnose, intervene, and monitor outcomes
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient care
  • Organize and prioritize clinical nutrition workload efficiently
  • Provide hospital-wide coverage during assigned weekends and holidays

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship
1–2 years of

Credential Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), or must obtain within 120 days of hire
  • New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) or eligibility required
  • Active membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred
