Plumber A

Flushing Hospital's Engineering Department is looking for a Plumber A.  The ideal candidate will be able to perform the follwoing duties: maintenance, repair and installation of commercial and domestic plumbing systems.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to fire drills and other emergencies as designated to ensure the safety of patients, employees and the continuous opera  tion of the facility.
• Under supervision, will undertake maintenance (including cleaning), repair and installation of all types of commercial and domestic plumbing systems.
• Must troubleshoot all plumbing systems. ( same as lead plumber )
• Make rounds as assigned by the supervisor, or lead plumber and report findings to the supervisor or lead plumber.
• May be required to perform supervised duties on systems relating to heating and air conditioning piping. Performs equipment preventive maintenance.
• May be required to perform all duties of a plumber’s maintenance worker.
• Required to assist in the monthly test on standpipe/sprinkler.
• Maintain medical gas storage area, flow/usage and report to supervisor or lead plumber.
• May be required to perform snow detail.
• Performs other duties as requested.
