OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS 

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

The Department of Rehabilitation at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center provides sophisticated and personalized physical therapy in Queens, NY, to individuals living with injuries involving nerves, bones, or joints, or experiencing acute or chronic pain syndromes.

The Department offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services and is staffed with highly skilled therapists and physicians, trained to treat a wide variety of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, traumatic brain and neurological injuries, pain syndromes, and other disabilities.  We are currently seeking experienced Occupational Therapists for immediate F/T day shift  opportunities.    

DUTIES

  • Evaluating patients to establish a personalized therapy plan.
  • Administering therapy approaches and instructing patients with therapy activities  
  • Collaboratively working with physical therapists and speech pathologists to develop and implement effective patient treatment plans,
  • Organizing and maintaining patient medical and treatment records and documenting therapy sessions and approaches.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • New York State License. NBCOT preferred
  • Entry-level knowledge and competence in Occupational Therapy evaluation and treatment and in use of Occupational Therapy Uniform Terminology.
