Emergency Room (ER) Patient Transporter – Hospital Transport Services

Full-Time | Night Shift

Join a vital frontline support team in one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Queens. As an ER Patient Transporter, you play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and timely patient movement throughout the hospital.

At Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, we are seeking a dependable and compassionate Patient Transporter to support our Emergency Room and inpatient units during the night shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients safely between ER, diagnostic areas, and inpatient units
  • Assist with patient transfers using stretchers and wheelchairs
  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and proper identification during transport
  • Communicate effectively with nursing and clinical staff
  • Maintain infection control and safety standards
  • Respond promptly to transport requests in a fast-paced ER environment

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to safely push, pull, and lift patients and equipment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency care setting
Prior hospital or patient care experience preferred but not required
Schedule & Compensation:

  • Full-Time | Night Shift
  • $25.16/hr.
  • Plus full 1199 SEIU Union Benefits
