Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Outpatient Family Health Centers

Full-Time | Day Shift | Multiple Queens & Brooklyn Locations

Bring Your LPN Experience to Outpatient Care

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses for Full-Time Day Shift opportunities at our community-based Family Health Centers throughout Queens and East New York.

Outpatient experience is preferred, but it is not required. If you’re an experienced LPN from another clinical setting and are ready to transition your skills to ambulatory care, we will train you.

You’ll work alongside physicians, RNs, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other members of the healthcare team while providing hands-on care to a diverse patient population.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Room and prepare patients for examinations and treatment
  • Obtain and document vital signs and relevant clinical information
  • Administer medications and treatments within LPN scope of practice
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and Point-of-Care Testing (POCT)
  • Maintain vaccination records and document nursing interventions and patient responses
  • Support patient education, safety, and efficient patient flow throughout the clinic

Requirements

What You Need

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Current New York State LPN license
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
  • Ability to work alternate weekends

Outpatient or ambulatory care experience is preferred, but not required. Qualified LPNs transitioning from other clinical settings will be trained.

Pediatric experience is preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
