Join a Level I Trauma Center Where Every Second Counts
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a busy, fully equipped Level I Trauma Center, treating over 117,000 patients annually. Our Emergency Department delivers state-of-the-art, life-saving care 24/7 with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, and case managers.

We are seeking experienced ER Registered Nurses with prior Level I Trauma Center experience for immediate full-time opportunities on day and night 12-hour flex shifts. This role is not open to new graduates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid triage and assessments to determine patient care priority
  • Deliver life-saving interventions, including IV access, medication administration, wound care, and patient stabilization
  • Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and clinical responses
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams on treatment and discharge planning
  • Conduct point-of-care testing, assist in procedures, and manage emergency interventions
  • Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of patient care and clinical status
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing reassurance and education

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (BSN preferred)
  • Current New York State RN license
  • Minimum 3–5 years of ER, Med/Surg, or Critical Care experience (Level I ER experience strongly preferred; no exceptions)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced trauma environment
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and rapid decision-making skills
