Patient Care Associate – Various Departments

Salary: $26.48/hr. Plus Full 1199 Union Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time | Day & Night Shifts Available

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, is a fully accredited, 404-bed teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center serving one of NYC’s most diverse communities. We’re seeking Certified Patient Care Associates (PCA) to provide compassionate, hands-on support in our high-acuity Psychiatric Emergency Unit.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
  • Monitor and record vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, etc.)
  • Support patient safety through observation, isolation procedures, and emotional reassurance
  • Collect specimens and perform dry sterile dressing changes
  • Keep patient rooms safe, clean, and comfortable
  • Escort patients to other departments and assist with admissions/transfers
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and social workers in a fast-paced emergency setting

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CNA or Certified PCA certification BLS Certification (AHA)
  • Experience with phlebotomy and 12-lead EKG
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and a patient-first mindset
  • Basic computer skills Preferred:
  • Minmum 1-2 years inpatient experience
