OB/GYN Residency Program Coordinator

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative OB/GYN Residency Program Coordinator to support our accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program, which includes 12 categorical residents and 1 preliminary resident.

Reporting to the Program Director and working closely with departmental leadership, faculty, residents, and the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the residency program and plays a key role in resident education, recruitment, accreditation, and program operations.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Accreditation & Compliance

  • Support compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) standards and institutional GME policies.
  • Monitor and track required program submissions, including resident and faculty evaluations, duty hours, and accreditation-related documentation.
  • Assist with accreditation reviews, site visits, annual program evaluations, and institutional reviews.
  • Coordinate and maintain records for Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) meetings, including agendas, materials, minutes, and follow-up actions.

Recruitment & Resident Lifecycle Management

  • Coordinate all aspects of resident recruitment, including applicant communications, interview scheduling, and Match-related activities.
  • Facilitate onboarding, orientation, credentialing documentation, and required clearances for incoming residents.
  • Support resident progression throughout training, from recruitment through graduation.
  • Coordinate graduation activities and residency completion documentation.

Resident & Faculty Support

  • Process and maintain records for resident leave requests in collaboration with program leadership and Human Resources.
  • Assist with tracking resident scholarly activity, research participation, and academic achievements.
  • Coordinate conference registration, travel arrangements, reimbursements, and special program events.
  • Foster positive communication and collaboration among residents, faculty, hospital leadership, and external stakeholders.

Medical Student Liaison

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for medical students rotating through the department.
  • Support the Clerkship Director with student onboarding, schedules, and educational activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Director, Clerkship Director, and departmental leadership to provide a positive and well-organized educational experience for all learners.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Prior experience in medical education, healthcare administration, academic medicine, or a related environment.
  • Experience coordinating an ACGME-accredited residency or fellowship program is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ACGME accreditation requirements, residency recruitment processes, and residency management systems such as New Innovations, ResidencyCAS, NRMP, or similar platforms.

Compensation

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience.
