SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Flexible  Per Diem  & Contract Assignments
Medisys Health Network (Jamaica Hospital & Flushing Hospital)

Rate:  $73/hr.

The Speech-Language Pathology Department within the Medisys Health Network is currently seeking per diem weekend coverage for both Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Flushing Hospital Medical Center.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting predominantly bedside swallowing evaluations
  • Monitoring and providing follow-up for diet tolerance on the Rehabilitation Unit and medical floors
  • Performing speech-language and/or cognitive evaluations and treatment for adult inpatients as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in dysphagia evaluation and management is required.
  • Experience with neonatal swallowing is a plus.
  • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate recommendations to Physicians, Nurses, and ancillary staff.
  • Reliable, with excellent time management and proficient documentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to share knowledge in a constructive and respectful manner
  • Compassionate and ethical approach, consistent with the ASHA Code of Ethics.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, Rehab Optima, and Sigma Care is a plus

*Weekend availability is required. Some coverage may also be needed at the Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home on an as-needed basis.
