Job description
Overview: Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s School Health Program provides both primary and preventive care to school-aged children ages 3- 21 years old. Since 1982, our Queens School-Based Health Centers (Campus Magnet High School, PS 155, and PS 223)— have helped thousands of children manage their illnesses during the school day. We are seeking an experienced bilingual Social Work Supervisor (LCSW) to oversee our school social work department staff.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Supervision: Supervise and support LMSWs, conduct performance evaluations, and hire social workers for the SBHC program.
Direct Services: Manage a caseload, conduct mental health screenings, provide individual and family counseling (in-person and telehealth), and lead workshops.
On-Site Services: Offer mental health care, including assessment, treatment, referral, and crisis intervention.
Advocacy and Documentation: Advocate for client healthcare access and maintain professional documentation. Conduct biannual chart reviews.
Collaboration: Work with DOH/OSH staff and ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards, including handling ACS calls and reporting suspected child abuse.
Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis response and develop intervention strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work and LCSW licensure in NY. Supervisory experience required. 3-5 years of clinical social work experience, especially in school health and with adolescents. Experience managing ACS calls and reporting suspected child abuse. Must own a car and drive to other locations twice a week. Spanish or Haitian Creole (Required)
