Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center. Our Care Management Department offers a wide range of services including: Care Transitions, EMPOWER, Co-Managed Care and Complex Case Management. These free programs are designed to assist people who require frequent medical attention. Our goal is to improve the health of our community by working closely with our patients and their families as well as their primary care physicians and other health providers. We are seeking full-time Supply and Equipment Coordinator for our busy Level one Trauma Emergency Department.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, orders, receives, stores, and maintains an adequate inventory of materials. Maintains an adequate inventory of parts, tools, supplies used in the maintenance and repair of the Emergency Rooms equipment. Labels items for tracking purposes, tracks and monitors disbursement of goods and equipment repair, and performs related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and /or Experience

  • Basic inventory practices. (Maintain, analyze, evaluate and account for inventory. Organize, stock, store, and issue supplies)
  • Basic principles of report preparation
  • Basic mathematical principles
  • Ability to respond to requests and inquiries
  • Perform moderate to heavy manual labor
  • Prepare and process purchase orders
  • Maintain a variety of records and files
  • Communicate effectively with the Purchasing Department to ensure that orders entered the Lawson System are processed and sent to Venders in a timely manner
  • Notifies ED Leadership regarding delays in delivery of ordered supplies/equipment, in a timely manner and/or Credit Holds
  • Stocks supplies in the appropriate places in a timely manner
  • Keeps track of expiration dates on supplies/equipment and ensures that there are no expired supplies/ equipment in the ED areas
  • Submits and monitors IT, Bio-Med, and Printshop work orders to ensure timely resolutions for equipment issues.
Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required, college preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
  • Ability to implement filing systems, schedule and greet office visitors, type manuals, forms and department correspondence.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written skills is a must.
