COMMUNITY EDUCATOR

DEPARTMENT: SURGERY – TRAUMA SERVICE

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has an exciting career opportunity for a Community Educator / Injury Prevention Coordinator within our Surgery Trauma Service. 

Under the direction of the Trauma Program Manager and or Trauma Medical Director, selected candidate will review and analyze trauma registry records to identify target areas for injury outreach. 

DUTIES:

• Responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and oversight of trauma prevention education and activities in accordance with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) requirement for Trauma Center Verification.
• Under direction develops policies and procedures related to injury prevention and safety.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring community trauma injury prevention and education program.
• Devising and implementing trauma prevention programs for hospital personnel and professional community at large.
• Participating in trauma program performance improvement and research projects as assigned.
