Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has an exciting career opportunity for a Risk Management (RM) Clinical Coordinator. The RM Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating risk management activities including proactive assessments, incident reviews, investigations, root cause analysis, risk reduction strategies and reporting to regulatory agencies as required. Additionally, the RM Clinical Coordinator promotes a just and safety culture, applying a continuous learning approach to errors through education, policy, and system development.

Our  ideal candidate, will have a solid clinical and risk management background and the ability to work independently with medical staff, legal counsel, and administrative/clinical personnel.  Selected candidate  will work to increase patient and employee safety and reduce medical errors and financial loss to the health system. Willing to train the right candidate for an entry level position.

Requirements
  • Must be NYS Licensed Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.  Master degree preferred.
  • Must have 3-5 years healthcare experience including knowledge of Risk Management activities.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in the application of RM methodologies, such as conducting root-cause analysis experience.
  • Ability to review medical records to produce accurate and complete summaries of events.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements (NYPORTS, NYS Justice Center & OMH)
  • Ability to write reports and manage data.
