ACCOUNTANT

GENERAL ACCOUNTING                         

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a 404-bed hospital and has served the Jamaica, Queens community since 1891. We are currently seeking an Accountant for an immediate full-time opportunity in our General Accounting Department

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for daily reconciliation of cash accounts and various monthly account reconciliations. Preparing daily Cash Reports.  Applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze Financial information. Handling various financial and accounting projects. Other duties will include:

  • Posting data to various ledgers, journals, following established accounting techniques and procedures.
  • Preparing daily cash reports.
  • Reconciling Sub Systems to the Accounting General Ledger system and resolving discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Assisting the Accounting department in preparing the monthly financial statements and General ledger analysis and Bank Reconciliation.
  • Assisting the Accounting department with the year end audit and the preparation of the audited financial statement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Of Accounting  and 2 Years of Accounting Experience.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practicies and principles.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing coordination of projects, maintaining electronic and paper files, following up on assignments with task owners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills .
