CAN YOU HANDLE EMERGENCY NURSING AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL?

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking experienced Emergency Department RNs ready to bring their skills to the demanding, fast-paced environment of our Level I Trauma Center.

This is not an entry-level ED opportunity. We are looking for seasoned Emergency/Trauma nurses who have already demonstrated the clinical judgment, rapid assessment skills, and composure required to care for critically ill and injured patients when every second matters.

As an Emergency Department RN, you will work alongside our emergency medicine and trauma teams providing immediate care to patients requiring rapid assessment, stabilization, resuscitation, and complex emergency intervention.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Rapidly assess, triage, and stabilize critically ill and injured patients
  • Respond to medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies
  • Participate in resuscitation and advanced emergency interventions
  • Administer medications and treatments and continuously evaluate patient response
  • Recognize subtle or sudden deterioration and intervene appropriately
  • Prioritize care effectively while managing multiple high-acuity patients
  • Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, trauma specialists, and the interdisciplinary care team

Requirements

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Current New York State RN license
  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department and/or Trauma RN experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience strongly preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS required
  • PALS and trauma certification preferred
  • Strong emergency assessment, critical-thinking, and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make rapid clinical decisions and perform effectively in a high-acuity, high-volume Emergency Department

Please note: An RN license and general acute-care experience alone do not meet the experience requirements for this position. Candidates must have at least 3 years of Emergency Department and/or Trauma RN experience.
