LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES

NURSING HOME

The Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home is a 228-bed state-of-the-art facility. Since 1975 we have provided Queens’s residents a comfortable environment, with access to numerous luxurious services and amenities. We offer comprehensive services for short-term care, rehabilitative, medical, and social services. From its onset, The Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home has built a reputation on quality and continues today to be one of the finest nursing and rehabilitation centers in Queens. We are currently seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses for immediate F/T Day  &  Per Diem Day shift opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

A licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide daily hands-on healthcare to patients in our Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Additional duties will include:

  • Developing a plan of care to meet residents’ needs in collaboration with the head nurse/charge nurse
  • Assuming the role of the nurse in charge as assigned by the Clinical Care Coordinator or Nursing Care Coordinator,
  • Assisting ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
  • Transcribing, updating and implementing treatment and medication orders.
  • Developing assessment plans, interventions, and evaluation of patient care and response in medical records
  • Obtaining and recording pertinent data in admission and nursing database
  • Participating in unit-based Quality Assurance activities
  • Performing the role of a patient advocate

 

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree/certification from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Previous experience as LPN, preferably in geriatrics.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of Sigma Care is a plus.
  • Must be available to work alternate weekends.

  • Highly proficient in carrying out work assignments
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Effectively problem solves and makes adjustments when necessary while continuing to adhere to policy and procedure guidelines
  • Adapts to change and adjust behavior to fit the situation or person as appropriate
