CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER – MEDICAL SURGICAL UNIT

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate care to the many culturally diverse, underserved patients and residents in Queens. We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager for our Medical Surgical Department.

DUTIES

As the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations inside the Medical-Surgical Unit.

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive nursing care plans for patients with complex conditions.
  • Serving as an educational resource for patients, families, and nursing staff.
  • Participating in discharge planning.
  • Evaluating patient outcomes and staff performance.
  • Hiring and training staff and maintaining quality standards.
  • Identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an Accredited BSN Nursing Program.  MSN degree preferred
  • NY State RN License required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of two years as an M/S nurse
  • Minimum of two years progressive leadership responsibilities
