Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, a fully accredited, community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center, is expanding its advanced Cardiac Catheterization Lab. We’re seeking skilled and dedicated Critical Care RNs to join our high-performing cardiovascular team.

Position Overview

As a Cardiac Cath Lab RN, you’ll be instrumental in delivering safe, compassionate, and expert care throughout all phases of cardiac catheterization procedures. You’ll work directly with cardiologists, technologists, and other medical professionals in a fast-paced, highly specialized setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient status and medical history prior to procedures
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and aftercare
  • Administer and monitor IV sedation and anticoagulants
  • Prepare and maintain cath lab equipment and sterile field
  • Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms throughout procedures
  • Assist with emergency interventions, if needed
  • Provide post-procedure monitoring, site care, and patient education

Accurately document procedures, medications, and patient responses

Requirements
  • New York State Registered Nurse License (Required)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications (Required)
  • 1–2 Years of Experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or Critical Care Setting (Preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in telemetry, IV therapy, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac medications and emergency protocols
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Preferred Certifications

  • Cardiac-Vascular Nursing Certification (CV-BC™) – American Nurses Credentialing Center
    IV Therapy Certification
