Creative Arts Therapy Extern (Part-Time)

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a Master’s degree program in Creative Arts Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Drama Therapy,
• Dance/Movement Therapy, or a related creative arts therapy discipline.
• Eligible to participate in supervised clinical training and accrue hours toward professional licensure.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations in a psychiatric hospital setting.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards.

Preferred

• Experience facilitating groups in behavioral health, healthcare, educational, or community-based settings.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing mental illness or psychiatric crises.
• Interest in pursuing LCAT licensure and/or ATR-BC certification.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care practices.

Professional Development Opportunities

• Weekly individual supervision provided by a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT).
• Opportunity to accrue supervised hours toward New York State licensure.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $36,918 annually
