ASSISTANT HEAD NURSE

REHABILITATION UNIT

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404-bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Head Nurse for an immediate night shift opportunity in  our Rehabilitation Unit.   

DUTIES

  • As Assistant Head Nurse you will provide operational and administrative support to Unit Nurse Manager.
  • Recruiting and training staff.
  • Assigning unit nursing tasks.
  • Coordinating and making shift assignments.
  • Monitoring and assessing unit staff performance.
  • Providing hands-on technical assistance, leadership, and support for nursing staff.

Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an Accredited BSN Nursing Program.  MSN degree preferred.
  • NY State RN License required.
  • Must have NHSS, ACLS & BLS Certifications.
  • Minimum of two years of Management of Acute Stroke Patients and Rehabilitation Patients.
  • Minimum of two years of progressive leadership experience in the Cardiac or Telemetry clinical area.
