WHEN A POST-SURGICAL PATIENT BECOMES UNSTABLE, EXPERIENCE MATTERS.

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking experienced ICU nurses ready to provide advanced nursing care to critically ill and medically complex post-surgical patients in our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).

This is an environment where patient conditions can change rapidly and nurses must be prepared to recognize deterioration, interpret clinical changes, manage complex therapies, and intervene decisively.

This is not an entry-level ICU opportunity. Candidates must have at least one year of recent ICU nursing experience and the clinical foundation necessary to care for high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring and treatment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a SICU RN, you will:

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill post-surgical patients
  • Continuously assess patients and recognize subtle or sudden changes in clinical condition
  • Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, continuous IV infusions, and invasive monitoring
  • Administer and evaluate complex medications and treatments
  • Respond rapidly to clinical deterioration and emergency situations
  • Prioritize care effectively in a high-acuity ICU environment
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary critical-care team
