COMPREHENSIVE PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY PROGRAM (CPEP)

The Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, provides emergency on-campus and community-based evaluation, intervention, and treatment of individuals who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis. Our CPEP services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and consist of a Psychiatric Emergency Room, Extended Observation Beds, Mobile Crisis Outreach, and Crisis Beds

We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager with demonstrated leadership experience and a strong CPEP and/or in-patient background for an immediate full-time leadership opportunity.  

DUTIES

As a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for patient care outcomes, providing feedback, clinical support, and mentoring to nursing staff.   The Clinical Nurse Manager will advise and assist in the development of departmental budgets, and educational programs, and be an active participant in interdisciplinary department committees.  In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring adequate staffing and scheduling for the unit
  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance to unit nursing staff
  • Ensuring staff training and development
  • Addressing personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment
  • Reviewing patient and staff data to measure and ensure the quality and  effectiveness of patient care
  • Actively serving as a liaison and representative to advocate and promote the best interests of staff and patients
  • Collaborating with senior management, interdisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services
  • Applying evidence-based healthcare practices and nursing standards
Requirements
  • Current NYS RN License & registration required
  • BCLS certification
  • Must be a Clinical Expert with minimum 2–5 years of related RN management experience strong inpatient/CPEP background.
  • Minimum BSN.  MSN preferred
  • Strong business acumen and communication and interpersonal skills
