The Department of Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently seeks   Physician Assistants for immediate day shift opportunities   Our ideal candidates will be compassionate, flexible providers.  

DUTIES: 

As a Physician Assistant in our Medicine  Department, you will have the opportunity to manage all aspects of patient care including :  

  • Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations. 
  • Evaluating, diagnosing, developing, and managing treatment plans 
  • Ordering and interpreting lab tests 
  • Counseling patients 
  • Performing various medical procedures a
  • Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care. 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs (ARC-PA) program, required. 
  • Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education is required. 
  • Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), is required. 
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications, required 
  • MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE schedule to cover days, nights, and weekends  - on a rotating basis.
