ASSISTANT HEAD NURSE

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404-bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services.  We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Head Nurse for an immediate full-time night shift role in our Psychiatry Department. 

DUTIES

• As Assistant Head Nurse you will provide operational and administrative support to unit Nurse Manager.
• Recruiting and training staff.
• Assigning unit nursing tasks.
• Coordinating and making shift assignments.
• Monitoring and assessing unit staff performance.
• Providing hands-on technical assistance, leadership and support for nursing staff.
• Preparing and assisting with the preparation of Nurse Management, incident, accident and investigatory reports
