12-Hour Day Shifts

8-Hour Day Shifts  

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently seeks Wound Care LPNS for immediate inpatient full-time 12-hour or 8-hour day shift opportunities. 

The Wound Care LPN assists the Registered Nurse in providing patient skin/wound care. Participating in daily rounds with RN and other interdisciplinary staff. Assisting and performing wound dressing as per care plan, policy, and best practices. Assisting with educating staff on preventative measures for pressure injuries as per policy and best practice. Participating with RN in quarterly skin prevalence rounds, performance improvement projects, and monthly skin care committees. * This position does involve direct patient care.

Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited nursing Program NYS Practical Nurse license
  • Minimum knowledge of basic nursing principles, techniques, practices, and procedures, skills, and prior experience preferred but will train.
  • One year’s experience as an LPN is preferred but new graduates may be considered
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire from the American Heart Association. 
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good planning, organization, and teamwork ability.
  • Computer literate.
  • Analytical skills, problem identification, and ability to identify alternative courses of action for patient care.

SALARY: $32.59/hr. - $39.10/hr.  DOE       Plus, Full 1199 Union Benefits
