Jamaica Hospital has a career opportunity for a Secretary in the Cardiology Department. The Secretary will assist the Cardiology Department with all administrative functions which will include organizing and maintaining department files.

The Secretary will be knowledgeable of billing and collections, answer phones, assist patients and families with concerns and direct calls to the appropriate department as needed. He or She must be able to proofread letters, memos and messages for accuracy for distribution. Must have the ability to handle all patients, family members, team members, and situations tactfully, professionally and with courtesy.

Requirements

Associate degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred

· EPIC experience preferred.

· 2+ year experience in secretarial/admin experience in a hospital/healthcare setting required.

· Medical Billing and Coding Certificate required.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a rapport with all levels of an organization.

· Strong customer service skills

· Strong Microsoft Office and Windows proficiency, specifically Microsoft Excel
