Ambulatory Care Representative

$27.90/hour | Full 1199 Union Benefits

At Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, the Ambulatory Care Representative is often the first person a patient encounters and plays an important role in helping patients successfully navigate their care.

We are seeking experienced, service-focused professionals who can handle patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front-end operations while providing an accurate, efficient, and professional patient experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet and accurately register patients
  • Verify demographic and insurance information
  • Collect applicable co-pays
  • Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate appointments
  • Communicate with patients, families, providers, and clinical staff
  • Support patient access and daily clinic operations
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications | Please Read Before Applying

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent patient registration, patient access, medical office, or comparable healthcare front-end experience required
  • Experience working with an electronic health record or patient registration system required
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Strong patient-facing communication and customer service skills

Highly Preferred

  • EPIC or Meditech experience
  • Bilingual, particularly Spanish or Haitian Creole
