Physician Assistants/Internal Medicine

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center located in Queens, New York is currently seeking experienced Physician Assistants with prior Family Medicine experience for immediate full-time 3/12.5- day shifts. Every other weekend required. 

DUTIES:

As a Physician Assistant in our Internal Medicine Department, you will have the opportunity to manage all aspects of care, and discharge responsibilities. Performs a variety of patient care functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, developing, and managing treatment plans.
• Ordering and interpreting lab tests
• Counseling patients
• Performing various medical procedures and assisting in surgical operations.
• Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
