Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has opportunities for Nurse Practitioners within our inpatient Psychiatry units.

It's an exciting time to come on board in the Nursing department at Jamaica Hospital. Jamaica Hospital is a 402 bed fully accredited community teaching hospital with a Level 1 trauma center and a large network of community based ambulatory care and the largest voluntary ambulance fleet serving the City 911 system.

Very Flexible Schedule

Job Description:

Provide advanced treatment to patients with psychiatric disorders, substance abuse problems and medical-mental conditions. They assess patients' needs, diagnose patients with mental illnesses, prescribe and administer medications, develop patient treatment plans, and file medical reports.

Requirements
  • Graduate Degree from an accredited NP - Mental Health program required.
  • Licensure as an NP/NPP/PMHNP in NYS required.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with prescription privileges and DEA Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an inpatient setting in Psychiatry required
