The LIS Coordinator manages the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the integrated Laboratory Information System (LIS) to support the delivery of laboratory services and laboratory information. This position requires the use of independent judgment to recognize, investigate, troubleshoot and resolve system related problems as they occur.

  • The LIS Coordinator develops new policies and procedures regarding the use of the laboratory information system (LIS)
  • Updates and maintains the data base
  • Coordinate the process of software upgrading with laboratory personnel to include planning of testing and validation of program changes.
  • Maintains coding and mapping for laboratory interface
  • Coordinates the LIS training for new Personnel
  • Works with vendors and Hospital IT to interface new laboratory instruments.
  • Sets up validation program for new Instruments, tests and procedures
  • Creates Statistical reports as needed

 

Requirements
  • A.S.  In Medical Laboratory Sciences. B.S. Preferred
  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
  • Previous experience with Laboratory Information System
