CENTRAL STOREROOM

Under the direction of the Assistant Director Supply Chain, selected candidate will lead and participate in the operation of hospital central storeroom.  Ordering, receiving, storing, and ensuring the delivery of supplies and equipment to various sites; ensuring items are pulled and ready for delivery to clinics and departments.

Lead Storekeeper Incumbents in charge of a central storeroom section and will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and delivering shipments, customer service, and customer and vendor relations.

DUTIES:

  • Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondences relative to the work.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work activities of the storeroom.
  • Determines items and quantities of stock to be purchased and maintained.
  • Supervises, assigns, reviews and participates in the work of staff responsible for a variety of storekeeping and store-keeping related duties.
  • Supervises Storekeepers in the receipt, issuance, storage, shipment, and handling of supplies, materials, and equipment daily.
  • Supervises the bar-code system.
  • Reviews par levels on Nursing Units and recommends changes.
  • Ensures the proper use of internal controls.
Requirements
  • Must have minimum high school or GED.
  • Three years of responsible experience in storekeeping, delivery, or related field.
  • Electric Pallet Jack
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and evidence of insurability.
