LIEUTENANT

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center.  We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking an experienced licensed Security Lieutenant for an immediate full-time day shift opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the direction of the Security Director, selected candidate will supervise, lead, motivate and train, Security Sergeants and Officers.
• Observing and reporting conditions inside and outside of the Hospital for potential threats to the safety of patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff.
• Conducting rounds of Security Posts and instructing assigned Security Officers of problems concerning their Posts.  
• Serving as an information conduit and liaison between Staff. 
• Maintaining positive relationships with Supervisors, Peers, Subordinates, and Visitors. 
• Receiving direction from Security Administration and exercising authority over the facility, personnel, and activities on assigned tour. 
• Coordinating and conducting investigations of suspected or known thefts or other violations.
