Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 424 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking a HVAC Level A Mechanic for an immediate full time, day shift position in our Plant Operations Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Selected candidate will install, maintain, and repair water-based heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and commercial refrigeration systems. Monitoring, maintaining and adjusting HVAC equipment settings for better performance. Analyzing and studying blueprints and other specifications to (assist / install) HVAC unit

OTHER DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Examining pipes, tubing joints and connections to detect leaks
• Testing electrical circuits and components for continuity
• Repairing and replacing defective equipment
• Installing, connecting, and adjusting thermostats, humidistats, and timers.
• Connecting HVAC equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant sources
• Adjusting system controls to balance system
• Assembling, positioning, and mounting HVAC equipment
• Soldering, welding and braising metal pipes and connectors.
• Recording report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, and other occurrences on work orders
