HVAC LEVEL A – HVAC MECHANIC
PLANT OPERATIONS * SALARY: $25.96/HR
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 424 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate care to the many culturally diverse, underserved patients and residents in Queens. We are currently seeking a HVAC Level A Mechanic for an immediate full time, day shift position in our Plant Operations Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Selected candidate will install, maintain, and repair water-based heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and commercial refrigeration systems. Monitoring, maintaining and adjusting HVAC equipment settings for better performance. Analyzing and studying blueprints and other specifications to (assist / install) HVAC unit
OTHER DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Examining pipes, tubing joints and connections to detect leaks
• Testing electrical circuits and components for continuity
• Repairing and replacing defective equipment
• Installing, connecting, and adjusting thermostats, humidistats, and timers.
• Connecting HVAC equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant sources
• Adjusting system controls to balance system
• Assembling, positioning, and mounting HVAC equipment
• Soldering, welding and braising metal pipes and connectors.
• Recording report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, and other occurrences on work orders
