Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has a career opportunity for a Graduate Medical Education Residency Coordinator Assistant for the Family Medicine Department with a minimum of two years of fellowship coordination experience.

It’s an exciting time to come on board at Jamaica Hospital. Jamaica Hospital is a 408 bed fully accredited community teaching hospital with a Level 1 trauma center and a large network of community based ambulatory care and the largest voluntary ambulance fleet serving the City 911 system.

The Graduate Medical Education Residency Coordinator Assistant is responsible for the oversight of residency and fellowship programs.

Job Responsibilities:

Assists with residency, fellowship and other related programs.
Coordinates GME and subcommittee meetings
Assists with coordinating special reviews and review schedules.
Monitors departmental evaluation processes and resident participation in educational and professional activities.
Provides administrative support to leadership team.
Process credentialing for clinical staff, specifically ambulatory care providers, palliative care, and committee physicians.
Handles payroll for the department.
Coordinate hospital grand rounds
Implements and maintains systems for tracking resident procedural experience.
Assists at departmental events.
Performs administrative office functions and other duties as required.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. 2 years residency coordination experience, preferably in an academic setting. Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and assignments Excellent problem-solving ability Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Suites, specifically Word and Excel
