The Department of Surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is comprehensive surgical care facility.  We provide multiple surgical specialties, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  As a trusted New York trauma center, our team of highly qualified general surgery specialists work hard to deliver compassionate care to people from all walks of life.  We are currently seeking an experienced Front Desk Coordinator II for our Surgery department.

DUTIES: As a member of our multi-specialty team, typical duties will include:

  • Scheduling and booking vascular and radiology appointments.
  • Overseeing and obtaining insurance authorizations.
  • Coordinating front desk reception and phone areas.
  • Conferring with staff physicians and support personnel to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
  • Utilizing EPIC system to book appointments, review patient information and ensure procedures.
Requirements
  • Medical Secretarial School graduate preferred or related experience.
  • Previous clerical experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding
  • Must have Computer literacy
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle shifting roles.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
