High-Acuity ICU Registered Nurse Opportunity

Join a fast-paced, high-acuity Intensive Care Unit at a 293-bed teaching hospital and NY State Stroke Center. We are actively hiring experienced ICU RNs who are confident managing ventilated, unstable patients requiring vasoactive drips and rapid clinical intervention.

If you are an ICU nurse who thrives in critical situations, this is a strong, independent practice environment with high patient acuity and interdisciplinary support.

KEY ICU RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage critically ill patients requiring life-support interventions
Independently care for patients on ventilators
Administer continuous sedation (Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed)
Titrate vasopressors (Levophed, Vasopressin, etc.)
Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response events
Perform advanced ICU assessments and interventions
Monitor invasive lines (arterial lines, central lines)
Document accurately in EMR systems in real time
IDEAL ICU CANDIDATE PROFILE     

We are seeking nurses who are:

Fully comfortable in high-acuity ICU assignments
Experienced with ventilated, multi-drip patients
Able to function independently on day or night ICU shifts
Strong critical thinkers during rapid patient deterioration
Confident managing Code Blue situations as primary RN
Comfortable in a fast-paced teaching hospital environment

Night Shift: 7:15 PM – 7:30 AM
Including alternating weekends and holidays

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Only candidates who meet ALL requirements will be considered: Active New York State RN License BSN required OR actively enrolled in BSN program Current AHA BLS & ACLS certifications Minimum 1–2 years recent ICU / Critical Care experience (required & verifiable) Competency with: Mechanical ventilation (management, alarms, troubleshooting) Vasopressor drips (titration to MAP goals) Unstable ICU patients and rapid deterioration response
