The Flushing Hospital Department of Psychiatry and Addiction Services consists of four certified divisions. These are the Mental Health Clinic, the Reflections Chemical Dependence Clinic, the 30-bed Chemical Dependence Unit, which is a medically managed detoxification unit, and an 18-bed voluntary Psychiatry Inpatient Unit, which is undergoing construction to become a 30-bed involuntary unit. The department also has a Consultation-Liaison service and is funded for more than $9 million dollars in federal grants for a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), Medication Assisted Treatment for Prescription Drug and Prescription Drugs (MAT-PDOA), and a Structural Racism grant.

The position of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is for the Mental Health Clinic. The position requires the candidate to conduct initial diagnostic assessments, psychiatry assessments, treatment planning, individual, group, couple, and family psychiatry, medication therapy, and aftercare and discharge planning. The candidate will be part of a Mental Health Clinic treatment team that consists of psychiatrists, Adult Nurse Practitioner, and psychotherapists (LCSWs, LMSWs, and LMHCs). The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in network-wide educational activities that includes grand rounds and case conferences.
