Cash Posting Accounting Clerk

Flushing Hospital Medical Center is a 293-bed, not-for-profit teaching hospital. The hospital offers a variety of services for a culturally diverse community, including Bariatric Surgical Service, Ambulatory Care Center, Women’s Health Center, Wound Care Center, and Chemical Dependence Unit. Our busy on-site full-service pharmacy provides prescription services to discharged, emergency department, and clinic patients as well as employees. We are currently seeking an experienced Cash Posting Accounting Clerk.

Responsibilities

·         Post all payments received by insurance companies and patients to EPIC

·         Post all denials with correct denials code to the accounts

·         Update and reconcile spreadsheets with cash posting data

·         Call insurances companies for Explanation of payments and payments verification

·         Analyze all correspondence received

·         Adjust, transfer and analyze all accounts for which payments have been applied incorrectly.

·         Scanning and filing all EOBs and correspondences received

·         Any other duties assigned
