The role of the Assistant Director of Professional Development and Organizational Learning is to develop, plan, organize, and implement the departmental mission and goals in providing multi-disciplinary educational support to the organization. Coordinates educational programs based on learning needs assessment, stakeholder input, data trends and organization goals. Collaborates with organizational leadership in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula that supports the development of leaders and teams. Provides consultation and educates departmental team members on current, innovative and evidence-based teaching methodologies and organizational learning strategies. Promotes a just and safety culture, applying a continuous learning approach to through education, policy, and system development. Provides oversight of initial, annual and ongoing competency programs for the nursing department. Oversees educational programs to ensure compliance with required standards e.g. Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC), Academic Affiliations, Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) etc. Serves as a resource to promote individual professional development. In the absence of the System Director assumes that role as needed

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in organization development or a health related field required, Master Degree preferred. Certification as a Nurse Educator or Organizational Learning preferred. 3+ years health care experience including knowledge of education and organizational learning theories, models and methodologies. Effective interpersonal skills and proven leadership ability. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Minimum of 3 years Managerial experience in education and organizational learning theories, models & methodologies
