Jamaica Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant position with our Respiratory Care team! The Administrative Assistant will be reporting to and supporting the Director of Respiratory Care in general office functions.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Liaison between Respiratory Care department, all physicians, billing, admitting and other service areas.
  • Organizing and coordinating patient test appointments, insurance pre-authorizations, patient registrations and result distribution for the Sleep Lab, Pulmonary Lab and Respiratory Care.
  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of clinical rotations of Respiratory Therapy students from multiple schools to ensure compliance with educational and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate Respiratory Therapy student health assessments, clinical work assignments and clinical dates (schedules) as well as involved in student final evaluations.
  • Provide administrative support for subcommittee meetings in preparing minutes and distributing to hospital leadership.
  • Additional admin support includes filing, dictation, billing, payroll, scheduling, statistics and record keeping, and provide clerical support on special projects.

Requirements
  • Associates degree minimum requirement.
  • 2+ years of administrative assistant C-level experience.
  • Technical knowledge in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, & Power Point).
  • Understand medical terminology and have knowledge of business correspondence format.
  • A pleasant office demeanor with excellent phone etiquette is essential.
  • Proficiency with the Epic electronic health record system, including the Cadence appointment module, will be expected once training is complete.
