INFECTION PREVENTION & CONTROL DEPARTMENT

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently seeks an experienced Administrative Assistant for an immediate full-time position within our Infection Prevention and Control Department. Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Microsoft applications, including but not limited to: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.  In this role, the Administrative Assistant will provide the Director and Assistant Director of Infection Prevention and Control with support services in the day-to-day activities of the Department in order to facilitate the Infection Control Program as outlined by the Regulatory requirements.

DUTIES:

  • Provide daily administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director of the Infection Prevention and Control department.
  • Manage incoming calls and the director’s schedule.
  • Managing complex calendar system for meetings and events
  • Communicating with Department Heads, Administrators, Vendors, and Manufacturers in relation to department IPC activities.
  • Recording minutes of departmental meetings.
  • Preparing, typing, and editing documents.
  • Greeting all visitors, and vendor representatives.
  • Maintaining and performing file management and record-keeping systems
  • Handling all administrative issues.
  • In charge of ordering and maintaining all office supplies.

 

Requirements
  • Minimum H.S./GED. College degree preferred.
  • Must have current/recent experience with complex calendar management.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook) is required.
  • Experience and knowledge of EPIC electronic health system is a plus.
  • Ability to type 60 wpm and take dictation at 50 wpm.
  • Exceptional verbal, and written skills and the ability to prioritize work and perform independently.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology preferred

SALARY: $58,000 - $63,000
